To save the world requires faith and courage:

Faith in reason and courage to proclaim what reason shows to be true.

“Modern methods of production have given us

the possibility of ease and security for all; we have chosen, instead, to have overwork for some and starvation for the others. Hitherto we have continued to be as energetic as we were before there were machines; in this we have been foolish, but there is noreason to go on being foolish forever."

                                          Bertrand Russell.

  I firmly believe that the climate has already started to escalate towards a second planetary climatic event (the first being the discovery of the stratospheric ozone layer, ‘the ozone hole’, over Antarctica in 1985). All the carbon credits, all the environmentally friendly products, all the sustainable business practices, etc., will be of no consequence.

  This escalation will not be a slow, befuddled ‘computer modelling’ predictable event. It will be what I term the ‘chessboard escalation effect’ an exponetial progession. In other word; you put one grain of rice on the first square, two on the second, four on the third and so on. This will be the consequence and result of the ‘gun firing’ after the stepping off the cliff where there is no going back.

  It will not present itself with a bang but rather a silent, slow whimper. But when it hits you in the face, when it dawns on you something is not quite right, to quote Mr Gordon Brown "there will be NO going back".

  It seems to me that everyone wants everyone else to make sacrifices.

And everyone who has been on the gravy train (including Africa) wants compensation.

Who was it that said “Better our projects begin in disillusion. Than… end in it”?

Well, for the record, this is where the main players stood and always will stand! ;

Going Going Gone

                              Laughable! So we can all relax now that the British government tells us that Britain’s emissions are down.  What a load of codswollop ‘statistics’ are!!

Even if it was true (which it is definitely not) would it compensate or make a halfpence worth of difference for India’s China’s or the rest of the worlds output, with the World striving to increase manufacturing for an increasing population, and dig itself out of a slump?

Is this a cunning plan by the British government to put forward their policy of industrial expansion of manufacturing growth that will get us out of this depression?

Facts for you to digest; Emissions of C02 are climbing. There is nothing the government can do about it. There is nothing any government is willing to do about it. The tipping point, the stepping off the cliff of global warming with no going back has been taken.  Look around you; look at these last years events. Does that not give even the most naïve and trusting of you a clue?

When idiots bringing you good news about climate emissions saying they are reduced, bare this in mind please;  Cutting global emissions of CO2 does not mean reducing the rise in parts per million belched out by coal-fired power stations or other such fossil-fuel powered plants. All it means is cutting the rate at which they are rising. In other words, slowing the rate at which they are increasingly being pumped into the atmosphere. We can't go on like this. In fact, some climate scientists say that 380 parts per million is too high and that we need not only to slow the increase in CO2 but also to clean up the mess we've already made. Look at this logically: if 380ppm of CO2 is already having an adverse effect on the world’s climate, then how can a small reduction of the Rising rate of output cure anything?

Joke of the year!
